About the dog and artist
Klimty is the epitome of chic fashion. Adorned in the exquisite decorative pattern of the male figure in Gustav Klimt's "The Kiss," this stylish pup turns heads wherever he goes.
Complementing his elegant attire, Klimty sports a matching bandana and is often seen with his tiny otter friend, who is dressed just as impeccably. For those inspired by Klimty's impeccable taste, matching outfits or accessories are available at his foster home, Edi Matsumoto Art & Design, inviting everyone to share his fashionable flair.
Originally from Japan, Matsumoto spent nearly 30 years in healthcare, primarily as a nurse practitioner in family practice and endocrinology. In 2018, she earned her second master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her award-winning work has been featured in galleries and museums locally, nationally, and internationally, including the Art Renewal Center, the International Guild of Realism, the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara, and the Pacific Grove Art Center. Her art has also appeared in prestigious magazines such as Fine Art Connoisseur, American Art Collector, and Leonardo Guía de Arte y Artistas.
Since retiring from healthcare in 2021, she has become a full-time artist, launched her wearable art line in 2022, and opened her art gallery and boutique on Mission St. in Carmel in the spring of 2024. Matsumoto also hosts a Bohemian Club-style networking and support group for artists in her gallery. Her additional work can be seen on her website and instagram.
