About the dog and artist
Stardust is inspired by the stunning coast we live on. Look closely, and you'll find the Big Sur/Carmel coastline nestled just beyond the Calla Lilies. A crow on the back of the dog pays homage to the beautiful crows that inhabit this area. Crows are often seen as messengers and holders of universal wisdom. Stardust looks up to the awe-inspiring Milky Way views that can be seen from Carmel Valley.
Raven Cook, 22, is an accomplished painter specializing in acrylics and resin. She describes her artistic niche as magical realism, with a focus on symbolism. Aspiring to be both a studio painter and a tattoo artist, Raven has developed a unique style that captivates viewers with its depth and meaning.
For the past 10 years, Raven has been a dedicated member of the Youth Arts Collective (YAC), a nonprofit after-school art studio for high school and college-age students. Currently, she serves as YAC’s lead intern, helping curate and install exhibitions.
When Raven isn't at YAC, you can find her working under Chef Yulanda Santos as her pastry assistant at the Michelin-starred restaurant Aubergine, located in Carmel.
