How to Get Here

By Car
Carmel-by-the-Sea is conveniently located along California’s beautiful Monterey Peninsula. From Monterey, we’re just a 10-minute drive south on Highway 1. From San Francisco, we’re about 2 hours south via US-101. San Jose is just over an hour drive away.

Public Transportation
Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) provides a reliable bus service throughout the Monterey Peninsula, including routes to Carmel-by-the-Sea.

By Air
The closest airport is Monterey Peninsula Airport (MRY), a short 15-minute drive from Carmel. Alternatively, you can fly into San Jose International Airport (SJC) or San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and take a scenic drive down the coast.

  • Parking – Parking is available throughout Carmel but it is recommended to utilize the Point Lobos and Sunset Center Parking lots.
  • Pet-Friendly – Carmel is famously dog-friendly, with many hotels and restaurants welcoming your furry friends.
